If both parents are deaf will their children be deaf?
Answer : About 10% of the children born to Deaf parents will also be deaf. Most Deaf people choose Deaf partners because they share so much through their language and cultural identity, but approximately 90% of their children will be hearing. Deafness caused through childhood illness, trauma or maternal rubella, is not passed on genetically.
