How do deaf parents know if their baby is crying?
Answer : Baby alarms are available that transmit the sound of a baby calling or crying as a flashing light, or in some cases, a vibrating pager carried by the parent (deaf people did manage perfectly well before these wonderful inventions). Similar systems exist for doorbells, telephones and fire alarms. Contact Social Services Departments or the Royal National Institute for Deaf people for details.
