About Co-Sign Communications
Co-Sign Communications is a new publishing concern with complete independence in expressing views and producing books about British Sign Language (BSL) and deafness.
Deaf/hearing co-working is at the heart of Co-Sign, with a strong commitment to raising the status and profile of BSL.
By careful management, our overheads and production costs are kept to an absolute minimum, allowing us to publish affordable books of quality, that are accessible to a wide range of people, professionals and new-comers alike. We believe that this is one of the best ways of sharing knowledge and changing attitudes. Books really do make a difference.
The success of our first book - Sign Language Link; pocket dictionary of signs has allowed us to reinvest in more specialised books likely to be dismissed by other publishing concerns as commercially unviable.
Signs of Health; a pocket medical sign language guide is the first example of this, and now our latest publication Sign Language Link; desk edition has been produced in large print and format in response to requests for materials more suitable for people with limited vision. This edition has notes on communication with people with combined sight and hearing loss and illustrated Deafblind manual alphabet, in addtion to the British and American alphabets and new Index. It is spiral bound to open flat and leave the hands free(for Sign Language and Deaf Awareness classes).
